Are you looking for a simple craft for Mother’s Day that will leave you with a cute sentimental project at the end of the day? Perhaps you are looking to make something fun for Mother’s day on a budget or want to produce them for a large group of kids. These craft ideas for Mother’s Day can help.

Craft for Mother's Day

Simple Craft for Mother’s Day Ideas

These simple craft ideas are sure to make wonderful memories for your family.

Handprint Flower Pot

Have your child paint their hand with non-toxic paint. This can be done in a single color or a variety of colors depending on what the child wants to do. Press the painted hand onto a terra-cotta flower pot. Once the paint dries, they can use markers or paint to draw stems and leaves and write a message to their mom. If you do not want a terra-cotta flower pot you can get a brighter color by using a white painted pot for your base.

If you are looking for a pot that can handle the weather, spray it with a sealant to ensure that your craft for Mother’s Day lasts for years to come.

Another handprint craft for Mother’s Day is an apron with your child’s handprints. See how it’s done here at Mother’s Day Activities for Kids .

Paper Bouquet

There are so many great ways to make paper flowers. A simple Google search will pull up dozens of different types of paper flowers from roses to paper hyacinths. Make a batch of these flowers and tie them together or place them in a vase for a bouquet that will never die.

For a simpler option, you can cut out flower shapes from colored construction paper and have the child glue them onto green pipe cleaners to make stems. Arrange the flowers into a bouquet and tie a ribbon around them. Use what you have on hand to make a bouquet mom will cherish for years to come.

Heart-Shaped Photo Collage

Cut out large heart shapes from colored construction paper and have the child glue them onto a larger piece of paper to make a collage. Then, have your child glue small photos of themselves and their mom inside the hearts to make a personalized and sentimental gift. Add the date and age of the child to heart for a gift that will bring back happy memories for mom when the kids are all grown up.

Painted wooden spoons

Wooden spoons make a great display item for the kitchen. Have your child paint a wooden spoon for their mother and label the back or handle with the name and date. This can be done with acrylic paints and you can seal them with a bit of oil to help the spoons last forever. If you have older kids and want a functional spoon you can use a wood burner to decorate the spoons, or have your child make a drawing in pencil and then have an adult trace over it with the wood burner.

Remember that when it comes to making crafts for Mother’s Day, sentiment and memories are what matter. Be sure to add a date label and the name of the child making every craft so she can look back on it when the kids are all grown up.
