A little pep talk for the shell shocked amongst us ...

In Love We Trust

Hola dear goddess!

It's been aaaaaages since I last wrote to you. To be absolutely honest, I've been enjoying a year of healing following a death threat last December. It's been a harrowing experience, but in looking for the positives, an amazing life lesson. I've learned to prioritise what's truly important, to be gentle with myself, to process and deal with the trauma... I think it has also, to a large degree, prepared me to be strong in the face of this crazy roller-coaster ride of 2016.

Anyway... I have written a little pep talk over at AnitaRevel.com to explore some of the feelings and shock surrounding recent events in the USA. I invite you to read it, but if you're too busy, here's the out-take...

As Martin Luther King Jr said:

“Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”

So, I choose to stay calm.

I choose healing, for myself and my community.

I choose to shine a light so that the darkness is diminished.

And ultimately, I choose to respond with love.

In love, we trust.

Goddess message? Amaterasu

Amaterasu is a shining example of how adversity can help us to 'blossom and bloom' more at times. She helps us look for the lesson to be learned when the adverse times come into our lives.

Amaterasu's traditional day is the Kiku no Sekku - the Chrysanthemum Festival of Japan. The chrysanthemum blossoms in autumn when other flowers are long past. The chrysanthemum is a plant that flourishes more freely if it is pinched back in spring - this is the process whereby the growing shoots are slightly damaged in order to promote more vigorous growth outwards rather than upwards.

It is an interesting analogy to our own lives - we naturally grow stronger with each adversity we overcome.

Enjoy reading Amaterasu's message here.

Shine on beautiful one,
Love,
Anita Revel
