Hello ,
Maybe you heard the rumors about YouTube removing links from your Shorts and thought, oh, cripes, but don’t worry; I’ve got the update that will restore your faith in
YouTube. Because, beautiful people, I keep telling you when it comes to publishing your content, YouTube is the most sophisticated platform on the planet, and no other compares, imho.
So first, let me say that YouTube’s policy to remove links was due to malicious use by nefarious
users harming innocent viewers by phishing schemes via links in comments, and in Shorts descriptions. This update protects you and me from these malicious attacks, so keep that in mind.
Next, in a recent turnaround, YouTube is working to give us the ability to add "content links" to our Shorts, that will
point viewers to other destinations on YouTube, like:
1- A long-form video on YouTube
2- Another YouTube Short
3- An Unlisted YouTube video on your channel
Think of Content Links as being similar to the links we can add to YouTube Cards, (but with a few limitations). This feature is planned to roll out by the end of next month.
