A Fun Christmas Manifestation Story

We're only going to share one story with you in this Christmas issue with the intention that it brings you joy and inspiration at this special time of year.

It was just before Thanksgiving, three weeks ago, when I heard a knock at the front door. I'd been puttering around the house looking for something to take my mind off of the workshop I was going to be presenting that evening at the local community clubhouse. You see, for me, the presentation of workshops and events involves finding a balance between "preparing" and "winging it." "Winging it" is what I call letting Spirit take over - and ultimately that's what works best and that's what typically happens. However, a little preparation is a good thing, as it provides a direction for the evening, like a springboard from which Spirit can take flight. (My Intenders Co-founder, Betsy Palmer, used to say that before she was going to speak to a group she would memorize the first 2 or 3 lines of her presentation and then let her angels take over from there.)

So . . . I opened my front door to find a young man with a huge smile and his hand reaching out eagerly to shake mine. He said he was a Kirby Vacuum Cleaner salesman and all he wanted was 15 minutes of my time to show me his wares. He needed one more sale to win a contest, and he mentioned having a wife and new baby, etc.

Well, I needed a vacuum. My old vacuum was on its last legs and my carpets could use a good cleaning. So, with some trepidation, I invited the nice young man in.

Three and a half hours later, after considerable pressure, price lowering and several phone calls to the main office, the young man and his manager left, leaving me frazzled with no new vacuum and only 45 minutes before I was scheduled to give my talk. Clearly, the Universe didn't want me to be "preparing" for my event and made sure of it by delivering a vacuum cleaner salesman to my door in order to keep me occupied.

Fast forward 2 hours and the workshop is going great. Despite being distracted earlier, my presentation took flight beautifully and we were all sitting in our Intention Circle. I had just finished showing everyone how I say my gratitudes and intentions (which were a bit worldly this time) - and then I had an afterthought and blurted out, "I need to manifest something physical so we can see this Intention Process at work. So I intend that I have a new/used vacuum cleaner for Christmas that works perfectly and it comes to me freely, easily and effortlessly. For the Highest Good of the Universe, myself and all concerned. So be it and So it is! Are you with me?"

That was on a Thursday evening. Two days later, on the following Saturday morning, I walked into our local Humane Society Thrift Store and the first thing inside the door was a shiny Kirby Vacuum, several years old but in almost new condition! I immediately bought it for $40, took it home, took it apart, reconditioned it and it works like a charm. It's the best vacuum I've ever owned.

BUT WAIT! That's not the end of the story. Two days after that, while I was rummaging around in an old shed out back, I turned over a large piece of wood, and, behind it, was another Kirby vacuum - the exact same model (a Heritage II) as the one I bought at the Thrift Store! I could use it for parts or fix it and sell it to recoup my $40.

Long story short, I completely reconditioned the second vacuum, put a new belt on it, and it works like new too. Now, just before Christmas, I have 2 of the best vacuums on the market, a clean house and huge gratitude for one of the most fun Manifestations I've ever had.
