There really is power in an Intenders Circle! My car threw a rod last summer when I was in between jobs. I made an intention to have another car come to me free, since I didn’t have any extra money at the time. Four days later, my son called me up and, before I could say anything, asked me if I knew anybody who wanted a car - a nice, older, but sporty VW. He said that it was taking up too much space beside his
carport, but that it ran great. And, it was first come, first serve. “Within an hour, I caught a ride to his place, started up the car, and drove it away. It felt like Christmas in July! Wayde Cameron

The Calgary Intenders Circle
Huge kudos goes out to the Calgary, Alberta, Canada Intenders for hosting Tony Burroughs earlier this month at their beautiful River Cross Ranch. Christina and Katrina rolled out the red carpet, and people came from as far away as Ontario and Denver to attend this powerful circle. Tony's talk had people looking at things with a new perspective and a new openness, while the gratitudes and intentions made in the circle were as heartfelt
and encouraging as it gets. The icing on the cake came during the toning when all of our voices instantly blended into a choir-like harmony. Thanks to Fabian, Deb, Cheryl, Sky and to all the RCR family for putting on this uplifting event...because that's what we felt like when it was all over: a family.
Tony's Midwest Tour in July
Intenders Author Tony Burroughs will be touring the midwest during the month of July presenting his latest workshop. These events are typically 2 to 2 1/2 hours with Tony storytelling for the first hour and conducting an Intenders Circle in the second hour. There will be a 15 minute break after the first hour. A Story from The Ascenders Handbook
BJ often said that it’s easy to change the past. People do it all the time. We start to tell our story and, right away, we tend to exaggerate the way things really happened. We make it sound like it was bigger than it was, or how we were more heroic than we actually were. We do this, he said, because we want attention.
“Attention is love,” he told me one evening while we were sitting at the picnic tables watching the sunset from the City of Refuge on the Kona side of the Big Island. “Love is putting your attention on another person the way they want it put on them. When you’re giving your attention to someone else by letting them tell you their story, you’re loving them. It’s a great way to get to know people, and a great way for you to practice learning to
love.”
I thought about this new idea as the sun settled below the Pacific horizon. I could sure use more practice in the loving department. By letting others tell me their story, according to BJ, this is what I’d be doing.
“There’s just one thing,” he said with a smile. “Don’t believe a word of it. It’s just a story; it’s not written in stone. People will tell you all sorts of strange things in order to get your attention. They’ll exaggerate like crazy! It doesn’t matter, though. Your job is to learn to love them, not believe them. Besides...it’s in the past. It’s all in their mind. It’s not in the Here and Now. You know what’s
going on in the Here and Now, don’t you, Tony?”
Again, I had to stop and think. Where was he going with this? I looked down the beautiful beach; the waves rolled gently onto the shore.
“That’s right,” he said, without waiting for my answer. “What’s going on in the Here and Now is we’re sitting here chatting and watching this amazing sunset in one of the most sacred places on the planet. It’s all happening right in front of us. Everything else is just a story in our mind.”
If you’re stuck in your thinking,
go out and help someone,
and you’ll begin to feel again.

A Vision for Our Children's Freedom
The following Vision was inspired after overhearing a conversation between an impressionable teenage boy and a military recruiter. The recruiter was hard-sell all the way, while the youth was innocent and vulnerable, clearly unaware of what he could be getting himself into.
We see a world where our children are taught, from an early age, that there are no enemies out there; that, historically, enemies have been deliberately created by those who are devoid of conscience for the purpose of starting wars and keeping us apart from one another. We now see that humanity has risen up and out of its "enemy mindset" and realized that everything works best for the people of this world when we no longer buy into the idea that someone else is out to get us;
thus, we thoroughly understand that the only people who were out to get us were the very people who were warning us that others are out to get us. Consequently, we've awakened to our ability to discern and easily recognize those who would manipulate us for their own secretive, unloving motivations.
We see a world where the lives of our children are respected; where no one is forcing, persuading or influencing our youth into situations where their lives are put at risk; and where all children everywhere know that they are loved and cared for by the whole rest of humanity.
We see a world where we understand, beyond all equivocation, that we are wise to help the next generation make its way in the world; where all student loan debt is cancelled; where all encumbrances are released and our children are free to explore and experience their highest potentials; where they are taught to honor all life; and where they truly know that all men, women and children are equal and deserving of a life lived out to its full, natural completion.
When this Vision is made manifest a tremendous sigh of relief will sound across the land as people in all countries, in all walks of life, in all colors of skin, in all religious and spiritual persuasions, in all lines of work, in all shapes and sizes come together as true brothers and sisters, equal in every respect, open in every heart, caring in every mind, afire in every spirit. We see that learning to love our enemies was a stage we went through until we looked around and saw that we
had no enemies in the first place. They were only a costly miscreation we once believed in.
