Part of being successful, is knowing when to quit. Everything we do is not a raging success. In every ball game, fifty percent of the participants lose.
Ask any successful entrepreneur and he or she will tell you about their failures.
I've been reading (okay, listening to) "Quit" by Annie Duke where she discusses the advantages of quitting. She talks about successful quitters. Duke delves into the importance of knowing when to
quit.
I started
Robo Advisor Pros, in 2015, at a time when digital investment management was beginning to take hold. I added this website to my company's long standing
Barbara Friedberg Personal Finance site. In addition to robo advisor reviews we cover news and strategy on Robo-Advisor Pros. Traffic and revenue from the property was great, and competition was limited.
But, as with any new and successful niche, bigger players saw the allure of covering the robo-advisory arena. Over the years, our site was competing with some of the largest financial brands online. Despite the increasing competition, in some cases, we continued gaining online traffic and revenue.
The writing on the wall is clear. The trend toward robo advisory coverage continues to be consumed by the biggest financial brands. Smaller brands, like mine are having a tougher go of it.
In tandem with this trend, my own work
load was growing as my freelance writing for Forbes Advisor, Investopedia and US News continued to expand.
These developments put me in a position, that I know many of you understand. I have more work than I have time to complete.
That's why I decided to sell Robo-Advisor Pros. I know that an individual with more time or a brand that wants a foot in the door to the wildly profitable niche will be well positioned to run Robo-Advisor Pros going forward.
Why am I telling you this?
Maybe one of you is interested in buying the property. Or maybe this story will give you the courage to quit an
