The Gratitude Edition

Sometimes going inward helps to connects to what and who you want outward.

I cried on the chiropractor's table, I let it all out... all the shame, guilt, self doubt and then I blurted out to Dr. Paul Stratton, my chiropractor of 10 years... "I'm getting a JOB! Whaaa!"

Don't get me wrong, I really like helping 5-7 people a day with 50-80 minute massages at Massage Envy ... and it wasn't like I was saying, "You want fries with that?" OK maybe I am, "Want to upgrade to a monthly membership wellness plan or foot scrub?"

There have been more stubborn luminaries who had to sell their baby for a billion dollars, when Richard Branson sold Virgin Records to fund his airline and cried running down the street with a check for a billion dollars. Brendon Burchard filed for bankruptcy before becoming a thought leader with a private jet impacting millions of students... Oprah is going through some turbulence with her new online channel. And I bet your before story is pretty entertaining!!!

BEFORE THE CONSCIOUS CHOICE TO RECLAIM MY LIFE

My body was soft
my food intake was unconscious
and my energy was low.
I had lost the motivation
to follow up with leads,
I stopped writing for my creative muse
or promote my work
and I just give away
my training, reviews
and marketing away for free.
Now I'm valuing my time
and the hustle at $16/
hour plus tips
While I like the 4K
coaching clients a month
I needed to reevaluate my value
and deal with my inner critic
Go on vacation from
the dot.com lifestyle and
Be a boss undercover
A courageous act before turning 40
In a month.

So here I go revisiting my Vocation I wrote at 22 in 1997 (while reading Think And Grow Rich by Napolean Hill) and remembering what inspired my life's work in the first place.

"My vocation is to express my healing vision of love and beauty through powerful art, writing, teaching and healing touch."

The career as a wellness practitioner ==> inspired a career in coaching and publishing --> the publishing inspired a deep exploration on how to market --> and the wellness training offered tools to help authors, coaches move past their mental and emotional blocks that kept them from stepping into the role of industry leader.

So many gifts have come my way since Groundhog's day when I asked "What If" and filled out an application for a job as a licensed therapist.

I learned a new off the body wellness modality that has helped people with chronic pain immediately feel relief and want to rebook and I've been tithing money again from massage tips and suddenly joint venture partners for copy writing and product creation are coming out of the woodwork. And I'm getting more done in my business on Monday and Friday than I have in five days a week. lol.
