Happy New Year From Me and Baby Zuri!
,

2014 is well underway, and it's already been filled with lots of excitement and it's fair share of challenges as well. If you have a long list of goals or resolutions for the new year, you may be feeling a little overwhelmed. But the great news is that, when you make goals that stretch you and challenge you, you grow into a better person, and experience a sense of accomplishment like never before!

One of my goals for this month is to get our baby girl onto a solid and consistent sleep schedule, and teach her how to fall asleep on her own. If you're parent, then you already know that this is a very difficult process which involves a LOT of crying!! Our baby girl sheds some tears too lol.

Whatever your goals are for this month, or this year, remember to take things one day at a time. Lasting change does not happen overnight. You may have to shed some tears to reach your goals (like me), sacrifice some sleep (like me), and go against the grain. But in the end, it will all be worth it!

Here are 12 quick tips to ensure that you reach your goals for 2014:

1. Write your goals down & look at them every day.

2. Be Specific.

3. Stay in a positive frame of mind, with a can-do attitude.

4. Record where you are right now, today. You won't know how far you've come, and how much progress you've made, if you have no idea where you started.

5. Give your money a place to go in advance. Budgeting is key!

6. Evaluate your progress on a monthly basis.

7. Have an accountability partner.

8. Remember that small progress is still progress.

9. Get back on track quickly after a hiccup.

10. Reward yourself for your progress.

11. Share your goals.

12. Share your progress.
