Grab some coffee and get ready to check out the abridged presentations I have done so far, as I have just uploaded them to YouTube. 

The first webinar is about how birdwatching has changed and become much more about aesthetics and photography than listing and the art of identification, and what birding clubs in light of this can do to get more participation. 

The second webinar is about what birdwatching tour companies can do to attract these new birders. There is obviously NOTHING WRONG with the birding tours on offer if you are a traditional birder of my generation, but the new birders do need a different product and most birding tours do not fill the needs.

Today the third webinar will be presented at 2 PM Peruvian time. That is 3 PM Eastern Time, 7 PM in London and 8 PM in most of Europe and South Africa, 5 AM in Sydney and 7 AM in New Zealand.

Virtual Birding on Facebook
I have mentioned it before, but one of the best virtual birding groups on FB is #BirdTheFeckAtHome - lots of fun birding games. They are particularly asking for lockdown observations in Central and South America.

 

Christian Hagenlocher also came up with a cool idea. Since Biggest Week is cancelled, he is doing a virtual Biggest Week in the group named Let's Bird Together. This webinar been posted there as well. 
It is a great group that is increasing in size.

 

Otherwise, the strict quarantine in Peru will go on for another two weeks at least. 

I'd love to hear your feedback on the birding talks. I am crazy to think in these terms?  I got some slack today, saying that my conclusions are wrong. What do you think?
