A short announcement with some news.
1. Big Sunday May 17.
I told you in my last newsletter about the Facebook group called
#BirdTheFeckAtHome. This Sunday May 17 there is the 3rd Big Day from home. It is a great way to spend the Sunday if you are still in quarantine and bound at home like we are here in Peru. Maybe involve the kids and the partner in the game.
I also need to annouce that the winner of the contest which is the most iconic garden bird of all during this lockdown, is still not determined. The final was going to be between Southern Brown Kiwi and Southern Cassowary, unless someone the 11th hour got a Shoebill from their home. Guess what? Somebody did. In Uganda. So now there are still a few hours to vote in a three-way final with Shoebill, Kiwi and Cassowary. Which do you think is The Feckest?
2. Bird photo from home during lockdown.
The Virtual Birdfair Facebook group is gaining more members. Nicer for the planet, nicer for wallet, more attendance on presentations from birding tour companies, and bigger reach. I am presenting this fun game, with the ideas taken from the Facebook group BirdLife Port Natal. You can participate from whereever you are.
On Sunday May 17, we shall try also to do a photography Big Day simultaneously with Big Sunday. Join the fun!
Well, that was all for this time. I am preparing for my next webinar about what Kolibri Expeditions is doing to make Peru birding trips less expensive. Maybe you don't need fancy hotels, or other services? Or maybe you would rather pay a little bit more to get more comfort if it is available.
Kolibri Expeditions introduce tiered pricing with three different service levels.
Tune in on
Tuesday next week at 3 PM Pervuian time (8PM GMT and 6 AM in Sydney) to learn more about it.
Saludos
