Tochni Village Becomes Latest Member of LTB
The Larnaka Tourism Board is pleased to welcome the stunning village of Tochni as a new member of our ever-growing family. Tochni is a popular agrotourism village thanks to its beautifully restored traditional stone houses. Blessed with picturesque natural surroundings, the village provides the ideal scenery for outdoor activities such as cycling and hiking with designated bike and nature trails, stone bridges and attractions such as the churches and Ecclesiastical Museum.
New, Improved Bus Routes
Exploring Larnaka and its villages has become a lot easier since the launch of a comprehensive bus system with routes that take in all the attractions within the region. Aside from the regular urban routes, you will also find rural routes which include the villages of Athienou, Skarinou, Zygi, Lefkara and Kiti - all of which possess their own individual charm. For some leisure time, the Camel Park at Mazotos and the Salt Lake are also just a bus ride away.

Voroklini to Gain Green Beach
The Yiannathes beach of Voroklini is the latest beach to be approved for a new eco-initiative entitled 'Greening Cyprus Beaches'. Yiannathes has already begun implementing the criteria required by providing locally made clay ashtrays, installing bins for recycling and creating a bicycle parking area. By the end of the year, green areas with endemic plants will also be created. The beach is already a Blue Flag holder and this additional initiative further confirms Larnaka's coasts as some of the best in Europe.

Pétanque Courts Created Due to Popular Demand
With the influx of tourists from Scandinavian countries, the Larnaka Tourism Board in cooperation with the Larnaka Municipality have taken onboard requests from visitors from these parts of the world to play their favourite sport whilst on holiday. The sport in question is pétanque (boules). The court will be located on the Foinikoudes sands during the colder months. Players will need to bring their own equipment but can use the court free of charge.
Larnaka Praised for Sea Sport Conditions
Larnaka's reputation for offering the ideal conditions for sea sports is well known, and the region draws in amateurs and professionals from all over the world as a result. Most recently, the region was praised by two top sea sportsmen, who gave Larnaka a ringing endorsement for its suitability for kitesurfing and sailing. World Kitesurfing Champion Kevin Langeree was most impressed with the area, and the Chairman of the Israel Yacht Club said that "Larnaka Bay has the best conditions for sailing races worldwide".
