The Power of Three

Published: Mon, 01/14/19

Dear ,

Happy new year 2019! I hope you have had a great start.

It’s been a while since I have shared an update with you via this channel. This year, I will be regularly sharing thoughts, posts, videos and resources around three key areas which call "The Power of Three". I hope that this will provide you with food for thought & action at the start of your week.

This week I have selected the following three resources:

#1 My TEDx talk “Great Leadership starts with Self-Leadership"

I am very happy that my TEDx talk “Great Leadership Starts with Self-Leadership” continues to have momentum and has crossed the 400.000 views milestone on Youtube. I personally believe that the importance of Self-Leadership will only grow in the future, with remote work, gig work, and agile work principles on the rise. What are your thoughts and strategies on Self-Leadership?

#2 Favourite Mental Models: Impact vs Effort Matrix

Mental models are thinking frames or ways to approach a problem or analysis. I use a couple of them regularly for me personally and in my advisory work. Here is a short video about one of my all-time favourite mental models and analysis tools, a 2x2 matrix I call the “Impact / Effort Matrix". Watch the video for details.

#3 Highlight Blog Post of 2018: The Art of Optimization

"Two roads diverged in the woods and I-, I took the road less travelled by, and that made all the difference." This poem by Robert Frost always sounds so inspirational. But is it always good advice for business and life? In this blog post you can read why I advise to have a different viewpoint and actually take two roads in the woods.

I'd love to hear from you

I will continue to share on a regular basis three key insights, ranging from articles, posts, instructional videos, TEDx talks, quotes & more. Please let me know, for instance via replying to this email, what you are interested in and what your thoughts are on the recommendations. Looking forward to continuing the conversation on this.

Best regards,

Lars
