Best funeral ever!
|
Hey ,
is it weird to say that I went to the best funeral I've ever been to?
When I buried my father in December it was emotional, but the ceremony was wonderful.
The celebrant read such a personal life story of him. It was like he was sitting next to me.
When he was lowered into the ground I read a passage my father would have enjoyed.
You see, he wasn't a religious man as such.
But he did believe in quantum physics (if that's a belief!!!)
I found a wonderful passage about how no energy is ever wasted, according to science.
How even the light bouncing off our faces is forever changed by being in contact with our smiles.
And according to the law of conservation not a bit of you is gone, you're just less orderly.
I'm sure he would have loved this.
What people can sometimes forget about funerals is that they're not just about remembering the person who has passed.
They're about the people who are attending. It's just as much of a ceremony for them as the one we have lost.
At this point I often think why am I sending you this?
And perhaps you're thinking the same thing...
This has nothing to do with guitar Drue!
Well, call it my therapy with you.
I often receive such heartfelt messages in response to my more personal emails. And I think life is for sharing.
Both my guitar lessons with you and the life of the man behind them.
And at the end of it all...
At least this isn't another boring Happy New Year newsletter :)
Keep on playing and stay in touch,
Drue James
