I care for you. |
Hey , I learnt something new about myself today. It's one of those "give yourself a pat on the back" moments. I realised it when I got this comment from my student James (who has at the LGIL Guitar Retreat in Cambridge last week) "You have such a talent in bringing people together and fostering community,
partnership and a trusting environment" I'd never given this a second thought before. But shortly afterwards another student (Lizzie) emailed me this... "It's a rare skill to be able to bring a group of people together so cohesively and you've got that in bucketloads." So I'm going to take a moment with you today and realise that I am good at bringing people
together. It's as simple as this... As a teacher if you truly care for your students progress (not just as guitarists, but as people) then naturally they will come together and form a supportive and encouraging group. This isn't a "social clique" thing either. Sure, I have regulars who attend my retreats but I also have new students who join from all over the
world. And so far I'm yet to have a group member who hasn't felt part of our retreat community by the end of the event. I have 2 tickets left for the November 2023 Retreat. If you'd like to learn more please click the link below and you can always email me back if you have any questions. Keep on playing,
Drue James
