Pushed outside |
Hey , guitar music offers an incredible amount of variety. What one person enjoys playing, another will be indifferent to or even detest. The spice of life right? I've been introduced to many different styles. Pushed out of my comfort zone on many occasions. Being open
minded to new songs and styles has never let me down. It's shown me what I love and what I'm good at. Consequently it's shown me music that I often admire but don't want to pursue. In the beginning just to find a comfort zone is a blessing. But once you've found it don't be afraid to look outside. Try fingerpicking those chords rather than
strumming. Try adding some singing over the top. Look at blues, bossa nova, folk fingerstyle, percussive playing, gypsy jazz, classical and even these genres have sub genres... Look outside and at the very least smell the flowers. If they're not for you then you've learnt something new.
Keep on playing,
