ASAP |
Hey , before I wrote to you my stepson (Ben) and I were harvesting...
Above you'll see a clearly happy Ben with 39 potatoes.
It's been a great activity for us to do together and it's taught us both a LOT about patience!
Our early efforts were disappointing.
We harvested too early and the potatoes came out small and hard.
It's always hugely exciting when we start a new endeavour.
I was exactly the same with guitar.
I wanted results ASAP.
I didn't want to wait.
I knew I had to practice but I thought if there was a way to practice faster than everyone else then I would be ahead.
And while there are quick and easy riffs.
Nothing beats patience, persistence and believing that your practice time will pay off in the long run.
Waiting can be the hard part.
It certainly was for Ben and I.
But once we learnt to enjoy the process (tending to the plants, watering and feeding) the actual harvest was even more fun.
Enjoying each practice is key.
Then once day the fruits of your practice efforts will mature.
Keep on playing and stay in touch,
