You're wrong |
Hey , it's cold today. Grey clouds hang low in the sky. I keep blowing into my hands as I'm writing to you. When learning guitar it helps to have a rough sense of where you're going and where you'd like to be. I don't want to use the dreaded "resolution" word and some people roll their eyes if I say "setting
goals". I think this happens as people see goals and resolutions as setting yourself up to fail. And no one likes failing! It challenges us and I for one do not like getting things wrong. Does anyone? Also with all the most accurate and action orientated goal setting life will often steer us back to familiarity or place an obstacle in our way that will force us to put aside our
goals. Lennon said... "Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans" I can see why people dislike them. However they do work for me! I find setting goals, whether I reach them or not, helps me steer my life in a direction I want to go. This year my goals are to make a minimum of 50 YouTube lessons after my extended
hiatus. I intend to run 4 Guitar Retreats a year (Starting with the new "Weekend Guitar Retreats", the first will be in July) Finally, with my oldest and dearest friend (Dave) we are now playing music regularly. Our intention is to perform at the retreats and share our covers on YouTube. Do you have any guitar playing goals this year? Feel free to reply and let me
know. Keep on playing and Happy New Year,
Drue James www.LearnGuitarInLondon.com
