,
music is the best therapy.
To prove this I want to share a story about a young guy in a psychiatric hospital.
He couldn't remember being omitted to the hospital.
He hadn't slept for 48 hours.
What he later found out was his girlfriends parents had checked him in after he started babbling and speaking in tongues.
He had severe anxiety and felt constantly afraid.
The doctors
diagnosed him with paranoid schizophrenia.
They dosed him up with pills and told him to rest.
After 2 weeks in the hospital he discharged himself, but he still wasn't well.
He unexpectedly left home and slept on a friends sofas.
He stopped
taking his pills and had another manic episode.
But this time it was different.
After listening to the voices for so long he found a moment of peace.
It came from listening to his best friend play acoustic guitar.
The music calmed his
nerves. Relaxed his over thinking mind.
He found peace. And for a moment the voices stopped.
He had an epiphany.
"I'm going to learn how to play guitar and write my own
songs."
And 3 years after his last manic episode he was well again.
Family, friends and his new love of music had brought him back into the light.
And to this day he still plays guitar.
Music is a wonderful
healer.
And perhaps that's why I share these messages of motivation and encouragement.
If I can help one person achieve their musical dreams I'm happy.
My place in this world is renewed.
