Do You Know These 5 Essential Chord Families?
|
Hey ,
learning chords doesn't have to be a huge mental library that never ends...
In fact when you put chords in simple terms, like groups or families it all gets much easier.
There's 5 common chord families that will get you through 85% of songs.
They are:
1: MAJOR
2: MINOR
3: SEVEN (or dominant seven is another term used)
4: MINOR SEVEN
5: MAJOR SEVEN
So how many of these do you know how already?
Let's take the key of "A" for example...
I bet you can do an A major (A) and an A minor (Am). Perhaps even an A7. But how about Am7 or Amaj7?
How many times have you seen these chord groups written above lyrics?
Imagine if you didn't need to look them up each time.
Just think how easy it would be if they were instantly under your fingers.
My latest free lesson teaches you how to find these 5 families of chords without the guesswork.
It uses the 12 bar blues. This makes things much more musical than dry theory exercises.
You'll learn the 5 families (with chord boxes on screen) for 3 keys (A, D and E)
That'll give you 15 chords.
