Why I love riffs
|
Hey ,
sometimes you want a "little win" with your practice right?
It shouldn't always be about full songs.
Getting that "yes this already sounds like a song" feeling is essential to our motivation.
That's why I love riffs.
Short, addictive and repetitive guitar lines that are so much fun to play.
And if you're looking to take your hand strength up a notch (let's face it, what guitarists is ever happy with their pinky strength) then these fun and challenging riffs will do just that:
Just 4 chords. If you're looking to improve your picking hand accuracy (picking the right strings with a pick) and your fretting hand finger stretch this song is for you.
A modern (ish) guitar classic. It uses all 4 fretting fingers and a cheeky mini barre chord. The result is an addictive riff that will challenge you in all the right ways.
A riff curveball that isn't actually played on guitar. On the record it was played by a double bass. Doesn't stop it from being a contemporary jazz riff that is a lot of fun to play.
You've got free TAB to all 3 of these songs at The LGIL Student Area.
Stay safe and keep on playing,
Drue James
