Hey ,
3 years ago I taught a live webinar that changed LGIL forever.
To this day I'm still hugely passionate about this subject.
Why?
Because it's massively overlooked by people who are teaching themselves guitar.
And when I started learning in the mid 90s, I was ignoring it as well.
Music is made up of 50% melody and 50% RHTYHM
But when we learn guitar we think it's all about new chords, new songs and new techniques.
And that's all to do with our fretting hand.
NOT our rhythm hand.
So we spend a great deal of time learning things on our fretting hand at the expense of our "presumed rhythm hand"
Why is it presumed?
Because so many teachers say "feel the rhythm" or "play along with me".
Honestly what happens if we CAN'T do that.
Or even worse... (and more common)
We think we're doing it well but it's not right.
We develop our new guitar skills with an inaccurate sense of rhythm and timing.
This happens with online learning more than face to face lessons.
Why?
Because when we practice we don't play with other musicians, backing tracks or a metronome.
We don't have anyone around us to play along with.
You know it's unlike me to be all "doom and gloom" about learning guitar.
But I'm just incredibly passionate about pointing out how our rhythm can suffer in an online learning environment.
And that's why I made a free live lesson all about this subject.
And how to check and improve your rhythm with a 4 step system.
The webinar is called "Give Me 60 Minutes And I'll Show You How To Play Awesome Rhythm Guitar"
It's happening this Tuesday (3rd of August) at 7.30pm (London time)
