The Christmas season is a time when the juxtaposition of the sacred and secular feels sometimes blatantly opposed, and sometimes quite blurred. The word “sacred” points to something dedicated as
“holy” and “set apart.” This year, you are invited to a spiritual journey of seeing ALL things pregnant with the Holy. What could our experience of the Advent and Christmas season be like if we lived it imagining that everything is reflecting the sacred? Join us for the Sundays of Advent as we engage the sacredness of all of life in word, music, and practice.
This week we learned about Sacred Space. You can watch the service on our website. Next Sunday we will engage the importance of Sacred Knowing.
Order of worship here.
Ornament for the Christmas Tree
Do you have a Christmas ornament you would like to share with us during Advent? Bring a favorite to place on our tree in the narthex.
Once again our Christmas offering will go to benefit an organization outside of our church. This year we will be blessing the young adults served by Vita Nova.
Vita Nova provides housing for young adults 18-25 who have aged out of the foster care system or who are experiencing homelessness. They also prepare them with life skill education including financial literacy, social/emotional health, vocational training, educational planning and health & wellness. Their curriculum is hands-on, and uses real life circumstances. In this way we outline the need for skills related to banking and budgeting, interviewing skills, parenting skills, time
management, organizational skills, educational support, employment training and information on community resources. Our Christmas offering will go through Sunday, January 1st.
You are invited to join us for our Christmas Eve service at 7:00 PM as we continue to "reflect the sacred" in worship together. If you do not drive at night and
need a ride, please let us know so we can make arrangements.

Have you explored the opportunity of electronic giving? You can choose to have a set amount taken from your bank account on a regular basis or you can make a one (or more) time gift by checking account or credit card on our website. Your regular electronic giving
means that your gift is available for ministry even when you are away (or forgot your checkbook!). Thank you for your continued support of the ministry of First Congregational Church!
