Dear Friends:
I recently caught-up with a friend who retired last year. He told me that while he enjoys having more free time (and no office politics), he feels best when he has a bit of structure to his days. So, each morning he aims to make progress in three arenas: 1)
exercise 2) learn something new and 3) tackle one of his many household projects. Most days he chips away at all three goals, but if not, he doesn't stress about it. The minimal to-do list serves as a general guide, while leaving time for other interests, activities and obligations.
What about you? I'm curious about what you did (or didn't do, but wish you had) to enhance your first year of retirement.
If
you have suggestions that could be helpful to others, I'd love to hear your thoughts for possible inclusion in an upcoming Next Avenue article. Please email them to me at
[email protected] using the subject line: First Year of Retirement.
In advance, thanks for your input. Now, on to the rest of the newsletter.
With gratitude,
Nancy
