A Skate-worthy Cause
A fresh wind of change is blowing around our neighbors to the north. The San Francisco County Transportation Authority held the inaugural meeting of its Skateboard Citizens Advisory subcommittee last week, part of an effort
to revamp the rules on skateboarding through the city.
Any skater knows the joy and benefits of skating through one's city for a variety of reasons: getting to class, picking up a coffee, heading over to a friends place, or just getting some fresh air and exercise. Any skater unfortunately also knows the pain of poor city infrastructure, pot-holes, or the random person harassing you
simply for riding a skateboard.
But a group of skaters (lead by advocate Aaron Breetwor, pictured above) are hoping to work with the city to change attitudes towards skateboarding. They are arguing that skateboards, with some help from some well designed paths, sidewalks, etc. could go a long way to helping cities solve micro-mobility issues.

across the map and gets more people skating!
