If you workout have you tried this format of workout? 🦸♀️🦸
(You may have without knowing it/why) ! 😄
What is it?
It's called PHA or Peripheral Heart Action training
and is one of the best ways to combine resistance training whilst getting cardio benefits, and getting the heart and muscles working optimally. You perform back to back exercises, but alternating from upper to lower body, so the heart has to shift the blood up, than down in quick succession. It also increases metabolism due to the demand.
An Example?
Here's a 15 min bodyweight workout to try (If experienced add jumping versions to the squats and lunges);
Bodyweight Squats - 10 reps
Push-Ups - 10 reps
Lunges (alternating legs) - 10 reps each leg
Plank - Hold for 30 seconds
Star Jumps - 30 seconds
Repeat 3-4 rounds with minimal rest.
Done this unknowingly, or likely to try your own now? 😊
