He said to me, "Marlon,
how did you like the swimming
pool in my bedroom?"
I said, "What swimming pool?"
He said, open the door. There's
a swimming pool there.
See, he'd built a new house. And
was letting me sleep overnight in the
old one.
And, in fact, there WAS an olympic-sized
swimming pool when you opened that door.
On all the walls were pictures of celebrities
and famous business people.
The den held 200 people where he'd do seminars.
And the basement housed his inside sales people.
Sometimes when I was writing for him, after
lunch we'd take walks on the hill by his
house. We'd get to chat.
He started out in Rockwall, Texas not being
able to sell even 1 insurance policy.
But after his mentor told him to read
Think and Grow Rich, he did, and that changed
everything...
... to the tune of $600 million.
