“As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.” Colossians 2:6
It has been over two years (769 days) since I've been able to publish a Rest Stop so this is a big step for me.
On December 1, 2015, I had a stroke. A large
blood clot invaded my brain without warning. Oxygen to my brain was cut off and my brain was damaged. My ability to read and write was impaired and the left side of my body was paralyzed. My brain has experienced some healing as I am now able to read and write, slowly, but gratefully.
My recovery has been so long. However, I believe God has promised me grace to endure. I hope to share more about this endurance in my next Rest Stop
In
addition to this big step of this Rest Stop, I am taking steps with the aid of a walker in physical therapy. My footsteps don’t look very graceful, but each step is full of God’s grace.
Colossians 2:6 defines my true walk,
“As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him.”
I received Christ Jesus by grace. There is a spiritual walk in Christ (in a close living relationship with
Christ) that under girds and transcends physical walking. I look forward to the day when I can physically walk again. However, I also look forward to each and every day truly walking (living) in Christ.
I was recently asked, “Are you walking yet?” I replied “no” while also trying my best to explain the reality of my recovery. However, I can now reply with a resounding YES!!!
I hope to see you at the next Rest
Stop!
