What's the deal with Block Play?
Did you know that block play increases spatial development (among other things) in young children? Spatial development is defined as the ability to problem-solve operations, view things from a different perspective, coordinate use of space, and increase reasoning. This is a critical element in education and teaching because it lays the foundation for science and mathematics in higher grades. The key to
young children developing spatial awareness is getting a variety of materials into their hands and allowing (and encouraging!) them to explore and create. The activities in our Block Play collection are intentionally open-ended—as little wonders work out and solve problems and puzzles they become empower and confident to tackle bigger problems as they grow. What a wonder they are!
