Breaking News - Beware of These Tick/Flea Products
|
If your dogs use any of the following FDA approved tick/flea products, please pay attention!
On September 20, 2018, FDA issued a notice regarding the tick/flea products Bravecto, Nexgard and Simparica. (Another product in this class, Credelio, recently received FDA approval.)
According to FDA, some animals receiving any of the above three products have experienced adverse side effects, such as muscle tremors, ataxia, and seizures.
FDA is urging dog parents to report any adverse events in their dogs either to the drug manufacturers, or directly to FDA.
You can read more about the notice here.

Protect Your Dog's Liver Using Natural Remedies
|
If your dog has been using any of the above tick flea products, or any conventional medication for that matter, his liver may be compromised because the liver has to work hard to break down all the chemicals and toxins in the medication.
It is therefore very important to use natural remedies, such as herbs and supplements, to support the liver and boost liver strength.
Be sure to visit this page for more information on how to protect your dog's liver holistically.

Tick-Off Essential Oil Blend
|
Instead of using chemicals to repel ticks, why not try using natural ingredients such as essential oils?
Here is an essential oil blend that can repel ticks: - 20 drops Geranium EO, or a combination of Geranium and Rosewood
- 7 drops Lavender
EO
- 3 drops Citronella EO
- Neem tincture (available online - try Amazon.com)
Instructions: - Start with 2 tablespoons of neem tincture and add more as needed to dissolve the oils completely. When there is no longer a thin film of oil on the surface, add a cup of distilled water (or aloe vera juice or gel) and shake well.
- Apply as frequently as needed, and in particular to the dog's neck, back, chest, legs, and tail. Avoid the face.

Product Pick - Detox Gold for Dogs
|
Here is a natural herbal formula that can help the dog's body systems to get rid of toxins, such as chemicals from food and medication, as well as from the environment (e.g. pesticides in gardens and lawns, or air pollution), or even from household cleaning agents.
The formula uses several herbs that are effective for detoxification, such as Blessed Thistle, Burdock Root, Nettle, Red Clover, and more.
Use this periodically to detox your dogs.
