Steve has been labeled the "giraffe man" after a 2 week safari in Africa over 14 years ago. His love of giraffes derives from the long lanky limbs that lend themselves nicely to his abstract style. These animals have the biggest heart and in most of his work, though some subliminally, you can find the shape of a heart if you look closely in every piece. Made from the Hawaiian hard wood known as Ohai, otherwise commonly referred to as "monkey pod", this
sculpture has beautiful grains of dark and light wood.
Gentle Giraffe, with its long neck reaching into the heavens symbolizes the ability to see the future and obtain things that would normally be out of reach. When your life is chaotic, Giraffe reminds you to keep your head up and avoid getting entangled in needless arguments.
