First look at the Park Hyatt Bangkok

The Park Hyatt Bangkok finally opened its doors to much anticipation on Friday May 12th, 2017. As promised we were there to check it out and take as many photos as possible. Being the middle of the rainy season it was difficult to get good pool shots but we did our best, including getting up at 5am to get some nice shots around the property before everybody got up.

As expected the Park Hyatt Bangkok is a stunning property with a young eager staff offering impeccable service. As with all brand new openings there were a couple of teething problems, but that is to be expected and part of the reason for special opening rates and bonus World of Hyatt points.

Sitting in the iconic new Central Embassy building amidst Bangkok's central business district on the former site of British Embassy (now located next door), the prime location of the Park Hyatt Bangkok is close to offices of major international companies, embassies, premium residences and high-end retail. Access is easy to local expressways, the city's Suvarnabhumi International Airport and the Bangkok Transit System.

The 40 meter salt water pool is spectacular, with panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline over the infinity edge. There are plenty of poolside lounges and cabanas that stretch up the terraced gardens overlooking the pool.

Opening in a fiercely competitive 5-star hotel landscape, the Park Hyatt Bangkok promises to deliver its signature friendly and gracious service with a personal focus. Combining its trademark pursuit of regional character with an elegant edge, it will not disappoint guests with its sophisticated interiors, signature restaurants under the watchful eye of award-winning chefs, art programs and special event spaces.

Eating Thai food.

One of the things that I was surprised about during my stay was the unexepectedly reasonable prices of everything. I mean, this is a Park Hyatt, the luxury brand at the very top of the Hyatt eco-system.

Not only were the room rates extraordinarily inexpensive for a Park Hyatt (probably the cheapest Park Hyatt in the world), but food and drinks, both in-room and at the restaurants as well as by the pool were all a lot cheaper than you would expect.
