I delivered two talks this week. The first was to a women's leadership conference in Florida. What an amazing group of women. I shared "Color Confidence: Crafting a Leadership Image That Commands Respect". I truly enjoyed sharing color theory and color psychology on what colors to wear to influence
how you are perceived.
A key takeaway from this talk, that I'd like to share with you is... when you get dressed... how do you want to feel? and How do you want to be perceived? Both questions are very important and one without the other may keep you misaligned from your true self.
A woman came up to me after the talk and asked what she should aware for an awards event where she is a nominee. She told me she planned on wearing a dark green dress.
I asked her, how does this feel to you? Her response was so interesting. She said, "well, it's not really me. I like wearing bright colors because I'm a
bright person. I thought I should wear dark because it's an important event." My response to her was this:
Dress for yourself first and then for the occasion. Wearing a bright color doesn't mean you're not taking the event seriously. You are being authentic and showing the world who you are. You are honoring your self and celebrating
that you are a nominee. She lit up with the encouragement to wear what she really wanted to wear.
I encourage you to consider not only how a color looks and how you want to be perceived but how do the clothes you wear make you FEEL. When a color makes you feel good AND it looks great AND it says what you want it to say... your confidence soars and people perceive you the way
you want to be seen.

Two Replays For You
Also, this week, Gail and I both delivered presentations for a live virtual event called
"Sew, Style & Craft Summit 2024". It is for sewists that make their own clothes. Gail spoke on Monday night and presented on how to dress your body shape. I spoke on how to choose colors and prints that flatter you. You can still register to watch the replays for free until Sunday. It's free to register.
Style Masters Live - Spring/Summer Trends March 2024
Gail shared the spring/summer style trends and inspiration on how to incorporate these trends into your wardrobe. Jen shared a fun way to change up your color palette for the warmer weather. Plus a few thoughts on why purple looks great on warm undertones.
This month's Ways to Wear focuses on the best shade of PURPLE for your undertones and what colors go with purple. Composed of red and blue, purple has wide appeal. While considered a cool color, purple can be worn well by both cool toned and warm toned
people. It is also beautiful in a variety of depths and chromas, so there is a purple for everyone. The question is, which shades are right for you? Let's dig in to see which color types will look best in which shades and ways to mix and match purple.
