Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions?

I know that a lot of you want to lose the Christmas bloat and get rid of excess pounds that crept on over the festive season and I have a couple of great tips for you.

Across the course of my holiday, I read an amazing book which was recommended to me by one of my boot campers – I would recommend that EVERYBODY reads it, whether you are looking to lose weight or not.

Here are a couple of interesting extracts:

Wheat is a food that is unparalleled for its potential to generate entirely unique effects on the brain and nervous system.  There is no doubt, for some people, wheat is addictive.  And, in some people it is addictive to the point of obsession.”

“While it remains a topic of debate, a substantial proportion of children and adults with attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) may also respond to elimination of wheat.”

One of the testimonials from a woman who took action and eliminated wheat entirely from her diet said, “After cutting out the wheat, I could barely believe the feeling of calm that descended upon my life.  The weight dropped off and my depression lifted……”.

We can’t even begin to compare the wheat that is in our foodstuff today with that which was used to make our bread etc pre-1980.  It’s a shocking read, and William Davis goes into great details to explain the intricacies of how this ‘new’ breed of plant affects our nervous system, our bodies and our weight.

My second recommendation for weight loss is to make sure you are drinking enough water.  This will plump up your skin, taking years off your face and will get the internal cogs moving, giving you energy, remove all the nasty toxins and thereby allowing your body to stop holding the fat cells.

Lecture over!! (but do consider buying the book)

I’m thrilled to see all the classes full.  Over the Christmas period I was working a lot on my computer and confess that my own Pilates exercise regime suffered so I am super happy to be back in the flow.

Don’t forget that if you want to add an extra class here and there or you haven’t been able to get into one of my ‘closed’ classes because they are full, you can always just turn up at the following venues and get an extra dose of exercise to push yourself that little bit harder:

Monday Fittleworth Village Hall 6.15 – 7.15 pm
Tuesday Sullington Village Hall 2 – 3 pm

No need to bring any equipment, just your enthusiasm, smiling face and the will to work hard.

The new boot camps are rammed full and I am so pleased to be working with so many keen exercisers who are passionate about their health and fitness.

Last year Karen lost a massive 32 inches off her entire body and a humungous 3 stone!
