Are you in control?

Last week I went to The Grove, (a luxury 5* hotel in Hertfordshire) to spend a day with my Mastermind group.  For those of you who are unfamiliar of what this is, here is the definition by Napoleon Hill (the author of Think and Grow Rich):

"The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony."
We spent 8 hours together working on our respective business and brainstormed ideas to improve the service we each provide.  I presented my coaching program I have been working on and am so excited to help as many women as I can, using my years of knowledge and experience, to get more confident and build a better life.
 
I coach women who are confused and unsure in which direction they want their life to go and together we discover how to find their true life purpose (I know how this feels as I was that person just a years ago).

The past couple of weeks have proved that summer is not that far away.  During springtime when the blooms are appearing, many of my avid gardening class members begin to suffer with ‘gardener back pain’.
 
So what can you do to deal with this?
 
Well, from my limited experience of gardening (except for my Silver-Gilt Prize from Chelsea!) I know that reaching awkward areas to weed and plant is unavoidable however it’s what you can do in between that helps.
 
Set a timer to remind you every 15 minutes (at the most) to stand up and stretch your body in the opposite direction that you’ve been holding your body.  Feel your body stretch out and twist around, casually swinging your arms to release your spine.  This is the exact same advice I give if you’ve been bent over a desk all day working on your computer.    

This is the perfect antidote to a stressful day. You get fit and toned whilst having fun and mixing with a fabulous group of people.
 
The Boot Camps are not just for the super fit, everybody has to start somewhere, RIGHT?  It’s a mixed group (men and women) and the ages range from 30 – 70, from the mad to the more silent types…… there really is no stereotype, so come along and give it a bash.

I often get asked what sort of exercises we do during the boot camps and to respond to this, we do HIIT (high intensity interval training). 
 
What’s that?
 
It is teeny tiny short bursts of high-energy exercises ranging from 30 seconds to 2 minutes (max!). EVERYBODY can manage this and there is always a high impact and low impact version.  You just do what you can.
