Sad News for Lahaina
I want to thank you all for your concern about me and my family. We are safe and well. I live on the Island of Oahu and we were not affected by the recent tragedy on
Maui. But for those living on Maui this was a different story.
The entire town of Lahaina was completely wiped out. The unimaginable happened. Countless people lost their lives. Thousands of homes and buildings were destroyed. I cannot fathom the immensity of this disaster. Our hearts weep for those who are affected.
But in the heart of tragedy there is the spirit of hope. The residents of Hawaii have banded together to vow to rebuild and
endure. They are resilient. They are survivors. They have hope. This process will not happen in the short term. This recovery will take years and years.
Please keep all those affected in your thoughts and prayers. Please show Aloha. I was astounded at the quick response from residents here, sending essentials and needed supplies. If you feel a need to donate please do. There are many legitimate charities available.
My friend Scott Weiner from
Scott's Pizza Tours has started a fund raiser.
You can help through supporting nonprofits like Mercy Chefs and ‘Āina Momona in their relief work for Hawaiian residents effected by the wildfires.
Scott's Slice Out Hunger is supporting these efforts as well as Pizza Therapy. You can find out more here: Pizza
Relief.
Thank you so much for your concern and positive thoughts for those who have been affected. Please remember to be thankful and grateful for everything we have. I certainly feel very blessed. Aloha.
All the best you you and your family,
Pizza on Earth,
Albert Grande
