In partnership with the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIef)®, OSP International LLC is providing certification training to new talents and educators in this field.

Student Profile: Daniel Moreno Fernández, PMP
"I have been working in a multinational company for 5 years, more than 3 years dedicated Project Management.

Project Management Professional (PMP)® Handbook relies on the basic PM knowledge you need to know for the PMP® exam. Reading it once/twice is recommendable but not enough to pass the PMP exam. PMP Exam simulator has definitely helped me to pass the PMP exam.

Remember you might know how to drive a car and you can be the best driver ever, but without your license no one will consider you as a pilot. Being a PM is the same, without your PMP you can be the best but you will not be the first choice..."

Generational Sensitivity and Diversity
Today’s workforce is made up of more generations than ever before. You might find yourself working with five generations on your project team. So on today’s modern it’s imperative for you to apply generational sensitivity and diversity-awareness to your project teams.

In this article I’ll show you what that means and how it affects your projects. We’ll also look at how cultural sensitivity has an impact on Human Resource Management, Communications Management and Stakeholder Management on your projects: Three large areas of content in A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide).

This article is based on an interview that I recorded with Margaret Meloni, PMP. We did the interview because “Generational Sensitivity and Diversity” was recently added to the Project Management Professional (PMP)® Exam Content Outline and she is a respected expert on soft skills. Also, those currently studying for their exam have to expect questions around this topic not only in their PMP Exam Prep but even on the actual exam.

Student Testimonial: Erin Cook, PMP
"This guide has given me more focus without being overwhelmed. With more concise knowledge it is easier to link concepts together in the knowledge areas and process groups to see the bigger picture. The breakdown of The Guide and Essential Concepts provides more manageable sections to study. I hope to be ready to move on to the PM Exam Simulator after I complete this study guide. Thank you for another excellent study tool!

PMBOK® Guide Sixth Edition: Preview of Coming Attractions

Image
This interview with Cyndi Snyder Dionisio was recorded at the 2016 PMI Global Congress in San Diego, California. We discuss her presentation "PMBOK® Guide -- Sixth Edition: Preview of Coming Attractions". Here is the session description:

A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) is being updated as we speak, and the Sixth Edition will soon be published. This session provides insights into the new edition, including a peek at a new chapter on the role of the project manager. For each Knowledge Area, there are new sections describing key concepts, emerging trends, and tailoring considerations, as well as updates to ensure the PMBOK® Guide remains relevant to most projects, most of the time. Come and find out what to expect!

Cyndi was the chair of the team that worked on updating the guide and in her presentation (as well as in this interview) she introduces us to the publication timeline as well as many of the changes that are coming our way. This was of particular interest to me professionally, because the guide is a central text that we use in our PMP certification training for our students.
