Practice makes perfect. If you were a baseball player, you don’t want to be up at the bat only to strike out. You may practice against a teammate to improve your swing, but ultimately, there is no real substitute for playing a real game. When you play a competitive sport, after all your hard work in preparing and training, you want to win. It is the same with the Project Management Professional (PMP)® exam. Recently we’ve seen a trend: The Project Management Institute (PMI)® appears to be doing more Project Management Professional (PMP)® audits. That’s where they review your application in detail prior to approving you to take the PMP® Exam.

But there’s another part to this trend: we are seeing more people failing audits and reaching out for help. If that’s you, don’t worry: I’ve got you covered with this article. And if you are in the middle of your PMP training and preparing your application right now, read on: I have some great tips to help you avoid the headaches audits can bring.

Student Profile: DonnaLynn Hall, PMP
"My recommendation, first of all make sure you know p. 61 - that took a while for me to just memorize it but need to understand it as well. I would take small tests to see how you are doing, plus take at least one 200 exam exactly how it will be with timing and taking breaks to get a feel for how long it will take you..."

ITTO's: Mnemonics and Mind Palace Creation
Let's help our forum member, Nick in answering fhis question below:

"Has anyone used mnemonics to understand ITTOs? I'm not trying to memorize ALL of the ITTOs and am focusing on the "why" and "how" of the different processes. However, there are several processes that have 8-10 inputs and an equal number of tools and techniques.

I've listening to Cornelius's presentation on mind palace / LOCI method of studying. He mentioned that it can take quite some time to develop this, depending on how much I want to learn.

Should I be doing mind palace creation as I go along in my studies?"

Lessons Learned from Adeel Sharon, PMP
Lessons learned towards becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP)® shared to us by PM PrepCast student Adeel Sharon, PMP.

"Thanks PM PrepCast. You have a good friend in this journey. I am from a technical background so I had a clean slate when I started my PMP® preparation. So, I am glad that it is over and I got over the hurdles on first attempt. Got 4Ps and I MP in closing process groups.

Studied mostly in weekends. Read the Rita's and A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide), twice each of them. Went for a couple of mock exams, the PMstudy, Oliver Lehmann's, and other free PMP® exams and eventually went with PM PrepCast."
