Why are we offering a discount for our exam prep products?
|
It's simple. We’ve noticed a trend with more and more project managers funding their personal development themselves. Project managers used to be able to
rely on their employers for career development and training courses, but that isn’t the case any longer for many prospective students.
On top of that, we know many PMP® aspirants have to squeeze study time into their commute, the gym time, after the children have gone to bed or into their lunch hour. Classroom and ‘heavy’ online courses require you to find a slot in your work week to dedicate large chunks of time to study. Some online platforms even need you to spend time learning
about how the tech works so you can navigate through the course materials.
We think that it should just…work. Around you.
Sample Question and Answer
|
A project manager is leading a project team with a software development project. One of the team members volunteered to provide the weekly project status updates to the key stakeholders.
The project manager was pleased to see the team member take on the additional responsibility. During the team member's first status
update conference call, the project manager notes that the team member just read the information from a prepared script which came off as monotone and flat.
Feedback from the stakeholders suggests that the presentation was not very engaging. Although the team member was well prepared for the conference call, the delivery was lacking.
What is the best way for the project manager to address this situation with the team member?
A. Discuss the issue
with the team member B. Prepare a formal written document C. Utilize formal verbal communication D. Send an email to the team member HINT: Of the available options, which is the most personal form of communication?

Iterative Vs Incremental Project Life Cycles
|
Let's help our forum member answer this question:
"I am struggling to understand what difference there is between iterative vs incremental life cycles.
As far as I understood, both life cycles add extra functionality in iterations. It is mentioned that incremental life cycles deliver the final product after the final iteration only.
Does this mean that the customer won't be able to use the
product until the last iteration is over and the project is closed?
Does this mean that in the iterative life cycle, the product is finalized and put to the market as early as possible and then features get added to it in an iterative way?"

Lessons learned towards becoming a Project Management Professional (PMP)® shared with us by PM PrepCast student Saima Rizwan, PMP.
"I just passed the PMP exam this morning (first attempt – 4 AT, 1 T) – seems like quite a coincidence that my PMBOK® Guide studying journey should come to a conclusion on Independence Day. :-)
In all honesty obtaining your PMP certification is no easy task so to all of those who have
achieved it “congratulations!” and to those who are aspiring “stay focused and you can do it, all your hard work will be worth it in the end!”.
Following is the process that I used and I have identified some of the lessons I learnt as I went..."
