The exam is changing because our jobs as project managers have changed.
Every 3-5 years, The Project Management Institute (PMI)® conducts research to understand how the profession has progressed, the impact of emerging trends, and how the responsibilities of project managers have changed. The last round of this research was conducted in 2015 and resulted in the current PMP exam content outline.
Subject matter experts from leading organizations around the world have worked with PMI to define the PMP of the future. The result of this research was the publication of a new PMP Examination Content Outline in June of 2019, and six months later, this new outline will lead to an updated PMP exam.

Process Groups and Processes:
The Complete Guide
|
By the time you’ve got through the first page of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) you’ll have come across the terms Knowledge Areas and Process Groups. (They are always capitalized because they are really important.) Add to that a ‘normal’ process and you’ve got three very different things that form the backbone of the book.
But here’s the thing. They overlap, interact and depend on each other. It’s so easy to get confused between a PMBOK® Guide Knowledge Area and a Process Group, and then don’t get me started on all those processes that are supposed to fit in somewhere. It’s essential to get your head around how everything slots together when you are preparing for the PMP exam.

Lessons Learned from Darrin Hovis, PMP
"I passed my PMP exam yesterday with Above Target scores in all areas. I spent about two months studying and used a combination of the PM PrepCast and Andy Crowe’s book, The PMP Exam: How to Pass on Your First Try.
I found the PrepCast to be extremely beneficial. The information was very well presented and the lessons built upon each other. After completing the entire PrepCast course, I read Andy’s book cover to cover..."

"My personal experience with PM PrepCast was very positive, both with the course and with the test exams. The classes cover all the PMBOK® Guide, the explanations about the ITTO's are clear and they cover all the necessary for the PMP exam.
The design of the presentations is very good, and the scope of them perfectly covers what is required in the exam.
I recommend it either to those who need a course that can be done in the free time or those who prefer to do it at their own pace and from any location." - Gabriel Spena
