Volume 7 - Issue 3a

Dear ,

This coming Tuesday night, for some, and Wednesday morning, for others, is the start of the Through and From The Lens telecourse. So for the next few days, I will be doing an almost daily mailing of Picture to Ponder, with photos, to remind you of what's possible in your world. Let's make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity for expanded seeing in your world.

Today's photographs feature "Light on a Neighborhood Walk". Tomorrow, in recognition of all of you who have been, and continue to be, battered with snow, I will be sharing one of more of my beloved Sam's black and white, winter photos. The mailing after that will feature some neat hardware that caught my eye.

Again, my point in doing such frequent mailings during the next few days is that I want to make sure that, too, have every opportunity to experience being open to, seeing, and capturing with your cameras the unique, the beautiful and the sometimes not so beautiful - simply because you've passed something by without noticing it.

You can start consistent new patterns on your own. And, if you are so drawn, you can experience the power of using your eyes and your camera in new ways with a small group of other like-minded participants in Through and From The Lens.

Today's Featured Photos -

glass block window - single block

12 glass blocks in window

wall with glass blocks window

From a late afternoon, neighborhood walk, the top photo is a single glass block in window.

The next is another block, different angle, picking up light differently (perhaps also different exposure on the camera.)

Then view of several of the blocks; finally, the wall with the full window.

Story -
There's not much of a story today. As I approached this view from from the left, the flower first caught my eye. As I stopped long enough to take some photographs of it, I looked up and became absorbed in the window. This, of course, led to my zooming in on the blocks and taking close-ups.

In the Through and From The Lens course, participants develop the practice of noticing, capturing with their camera, and then noticing more. They find themselves becoming excited AND fully present and aware of what's happening in the moment - easy shifts, increased joy. They experience the power of choice.

Self-Reflecting Queries -
Now, I invite you to look at your life. Is there an area that has a lot in it, all of which looks pretty much the same? Consider objects, people and activities. Where is your focus?

When you move in, as I did in the third photo, what's different? Is there some chaos?

Then focus in on one thing - person, object, situation - what shifts?

Suppose you look at it from a different angle. Does another perspective make a difference in the way you've been viewing the whole scenario?

Given today's photos are so much about reflecting light, I also invite you to look at where the light is shining brightest in your life. Then acknowledge it.

Lastly I invite you to consider the following:

What might be possible if you experienced perspective shifts, openings and much more, throughout four weeks in the Through and From The Lens course?

What if this made a difference for you in having increased play and joy in your life?"

What if your camera became your best friend, there for you whenever you needed an altered state or conversation?

If finding the answers to the above appeals to you, then consider joining us in one of the two sessions of Through and From The Lens? Each class is limited to 10 participants only, so you can have my full, personal attention.

As always remember to have fun with the pictures and the queries and share on the blog what comes up for you.

IMPORTANT: If today's photos inspire writing or anything else that has you share it and the photos, please be certain to credit the source, including the URL of this issue, http://www.eteletours.com/v7-issue3a.html
