Dear ,

Though I did wish you a Happy New Year in the closing issue of Picture to Ponder for 2011, I'm moved to share the following photos and video for their light and aliveness.

Continuing the celebration, these orchids are spilling light and joy into the New Year. May it be a wondrous one, full of discovery and both old and the new that will empower you and your loved ones.

Discovering new things is one of the big passions in my life, especially exciting when they happen accidentally and totally unexpectedly. Be sure to continue reading, to see the possibility with videos.

Today's Photos

White Phalaenopsis Orchids

As I was leaving the house for the last 2011 sunset at Green Cay Wetlands, my inner voice said "Go to the ocean." So I took the 20- minute ride, instead of the 5-minute one, and went.

The ocean was so peaceful that I knew I had to capture it on video, perceiving this as a sign of great things to come. I decided to look for affirmation and set my alarm on New Year's Day so I could go back for the first 2012 sunrise. Brilliant light and more peace was my reward.

Once home, I uploaded and added them to the beginning of my sunrise-sunset Ocean Videos Playlist on YouTube. There are some wonderful ones there. I now offer you the link - Ocean Sunrise-Sunset Videos so you, too, can experience the respite and pleasure, moments away from your computer work.

You'll best be able to enjoy the sounds of the ocean with your computer volume on low.

To watch the first sun rise of 2012 go to the third "Birds Fly...." video. If you're short on time, you can drag the bar and go directly to 2:46 to see the sun emerging over the horizon. The second video in the list is my favorite. I love the reflected bronze golden light in the ocean.

And, the first of my recent "Accidental Discoveries": The Playlist has an automatic mode and will continue playing all the videos in sequence. Thus, if you like the sounds of the ocean, you can run the Playlist in the backgroudnd as you do other work on your computer.

Discovery 2 - Video as Desktop Image, Plus

Last night I uploaded a fourth video from New Year's Day. When I opened it to full desktop on my MacIntosh computer, I saw I could keep my not-so-organized desktop completely covered.

And when I need to be on my desktop, a simple "Hide QuickTtime", or click on Finder, will get me there. Then clicking on any of the program icons in the Dashboard will get me where I want to be for working, or simply "Hiding" QuickTime will immediately get me back to whatever I was last doing.

How cool is this - beautiful water for energy and a no-travel beach break with sound and imagery simply by clicking the arrow in the QuickTime toolbar (moved to the lower left far corner)!

The final added bonus is that the video can be paused anywhere and you have a new image for your desktop "wall paper" on the "closet door" to folders you might want to hide. The above is from the first video image you see here. It starts out with gulls on the beach. Click GULLS AT OCEAN EDGE. It's one minute in length.

Clicking on the box next to the audio symbol in the lower right will open is full screen. The "Escape" button on your keyboard will bring it back to small size.

Video Query - Would you like to have the above video on your computer? I am now investigating how I can set up something so that I can offer direct video downloads to you so that you, too, can experience similar joy and respite.

I am wondering about a Nature Video membership. If you would like the download for the above video and be in a no-obligation conversation with me about possibilities for future videos simply enter your name and email address on the VIDEO INTEREST FORM.

Note: Though I haven't yet tried it on my Windows laptop, I am assuming one can have a similar experience there. If you try it please let me know.

Self-Reflecting Queries -
Today's focus has been on my excitement in making and sharing discoveries and implementing them.

I invite you to look into your life. Does making discoveries excite you?

Whether "yes" or "no", is there any new learning that excites you in terms of furthering your relationships or business?

What kinds of things do you like to share? People? Programs - business or social? Other?

Have you set up systems for ensuring that you have and keep the excitement in your life for 2012?

Have a great one.

As always I invite you to have fun with the photos and queries. Please share on the blog your experiences with them and what comes up for you.
