Volume 8 - Issue 9

Dear ,

It's been a very busy, interesting and productive week here. I hope it was the same for you.

Sheila Finkelstein reflected in 3 mirrors I spent a lot of time in response to Jan Lundy's invitation to submit an article for the March Issue of BUDDHA CHICK LIFE, topic: "Celebrating the Feminine".

My knee jerk response, in my head, was, "Thanks, and that's doesn't describe me."

Paying attention to my reaction, I decided it would be a good thing for me to write about, to work my way through it to see what, if anything, was at the root.

You can see all the articles on BUDDHA CHICK LIFE. Mine is entitled "Celebrating Owning Ourselves," identified by title or the above photo icon, on the main BUDDHA CHICK page, or here.

Moving onto a separate conversation
- "What's up with Love with No Regrets - business and mailings?" you may be asking.

I appreciate those of you who responded to my Love with No Regrets, "One Question Mailing" last week.

For those who missed seeing it, I am putting together a free report, "51 Ways to Show Love." The question I asked was, "What is one thing you do to show love to your spouse, partner or significant other?".

If the topic fits for you, there is still time to participate. Simply click on ANSWER QUESTION, and an email should open up in your mail program. If not, simply reply to this email with "One Way of Showing Love" in the subject line.

Explanation of Mailings - You've undoubtedly noted during the past month that I have sent two mailings in some weeks. One was the regular issue of Picture to Ponder. The other was related to my evolving new business.

What is developing in large measure comes out of my work with Picture to Ponder over the last 7 plus years. Last week I received a request from a new subscriber who said she loves PTP and wanted to know how she could unsubscribe from Love with No Regrets.

I did respond directly to her and realized it would be good to mention it here also. Right now there is not a separate list. The relationship conversations I am, and will be, having apply to many life situations. We are all relating, in one way or another, to the people in our lives.

So that you can distinguish between the mailings, the subject line for your regular issue will always start with "Picture to Ponder - Vol....." Any other mailings will include "LWNR" or "Love with No Regrets"... with another relevant phrase.

Now on to Today's Photos which are in the form of a short "Photo Essay." Jan Lundy's suggestion of an added "Photo Essay" for my article in BUDDHA CHICK LIFE probably was the subconscious catalyst when these photos popped out for me as I was searching my files.

Today's Photos - Photo Essay -

Electrical box on outside wall at San Marco

Locked Up...
Hidden...
What is there to be Revealed?

poolside ripples - reflections in the water

Split...
Pulled...
This Way or That?

reflections in pool water - all over ripples

Opening Up...
Still a Swirl...
Endless Possibilities!

The three photos were presumably taken on a neighborhood walk. I do not know what the top image is. The bottom two are of reflections in our community pool with the water moving to the rhythm of the motor of the filter pump

Self-Reflecting Queries -
As I finishing writing today, I'm feeling like the bottom photo, all over the place - inside responsibilities and out - time pressure constraints and more. I want to pop up into the top photo and feel focused and secure.

The irony of this is that when I was looking at the photos the other day, the top one was a little disconcerting. I did not want to be "locked up." And, I suspect when I took the water reflection photos I was feeling very calm and peaceful and viewed the scenes from the same perspective.

The reminders here are that at any given moment our perceptions are often colored by our immediate thoughts and feelings. I could say "head games." If we consider them as games, we can more freely play with creating shifts, while looking at the same situation.

So coming back to you.

1. What is your initial response to each of the photos?

2. Can you relate them to things happening in your own life?

3. What kind of shifts, or different interpretations, can you put in place, if you so choose?

4. Lastly, I invite you to have fun with your own images. Look around. Find something that catches your eye. What is it that had you respond to it? Could be different? If so, would you want it to be and how would you create it as such?

As always, remember to have fun with the photos and queries. Please share your experience on the blog.

Special Programs I Recommend -
Sacred Journey Course -
My friend, as mentioned above, Jan Lundy is offering Your Truest Self: Embodying the Woman You Are Meant to Be: An Intimate 12-Month Spiritual Journey for Women. In a recent e-conversation, she wrote: "It is an extraordinary program. Really transforms, if I do say so myself. :-)"

There is still time to register for the program that starts this Monday, March 5th. Although I've not done any courses with Jan, I have had a lot of phone and email interaction with here. I felt privileged to be invited to participate, as a mentor in one of her programs. Then I had the opportunity, for the week, to come into the member-only, private blog.

I am in awe of what the participants experienced and contributed. And I continued to be impressed with Jan as I observed her gentle, insightful and supportive comments, as well as those of the participants.

You can learn more and enjoy Jan's latest blog post, "Eating, Praying, Loving Together" or go straight to the Course Page for a full description of what will be covered during the 12-Month Spiritual Journey, for investment of only $99 total for the year.

Reader's Comments are welcome -
To post them on the Photography and Transformation blog click on the small word "Comment" at the end of NY post. Then remember to click on "Submit."

If posting on a blog is not your style, please continue to send your comments directly to me. Learning what you are experiencing means a lot. It is part of the reward, for me, of publishing Picture to Ponder.
