Dear ,

Is your already "knowing the answers", at least thinking you do, getting in the way of taking action?

Conversely, is the "need to know the answers to certain questions" stopping you from moving forward?

Are you in Wonder, Query, or Knowing?

First - On Knowing the Answers -
If you've been subscribing to Picture to Ponder/Treasure Your Life Now for a while, you've undoubtedly read the message many times to always check out your own assumptions on what another person is thinking or saying before acting on your "already knowing" what it is.

This past weekend I was in a workshop during which there was an opportunity to enroll in a program that can/will make a major difference in my business. (No, this is NOT a lead up to enrolling you into a program. It's simply an illustrative example of the point I want to make here today.)

Before the leader started answering specifics on the program, I had already gone up to him, shook his hand, thanked him for what I learned, concluding with statement that the program was not for me. Then, while in the back of the room, I overheard something I had not known about, a benefit that could also relate to my family. So, I started paying attention.

At the end I heard my voice, reminding me, "Sheila, you always tell your readers and clients to check out what it is they thing they 'know' with those with whom they are communicating. So, follow your own rules."

Thus I went up to the leader, explained my business and asked if he saw that here might be a fit. Satisfied with the answer, for other reasons I still "knew" that it wasn't for me, at least not now. After putting my things in the car, once again I heard my other self saying, "Sheila, you simply don't know the answer to the last thing you're curious about. You haven't asked."

So I went back, questioned and learned I had been wrong! I then took action on something that has already started opening up whole new possibilities, including resolving some other business questions I've had.

More of Today's Photos -

The above photos of a images in a wall were taken, as I walked with a group through an Industrial Park, turned Arts District with Artist Studios, in Boynton Beach, Florida. It was probably the "faces" I saw that originally caught my eye, then the textures. For a broader view that includes the door, see below.

This Arts District, using warehouses for artists' studios, was started by Rolando Chang Barrero, Director of ActiveArtistA Gallery, Exploring South Florida Art. When I took the photos, I thought I'd probably share them here. Then I got STUCK, for a few weeks, on how to present them, what theme to use, and more.

I had written a brief note to Rolando, asking if this was art that had been put up or simply a wall and garage door that had gotten weathered.

Rolando responded, "Amazing that the wall caught your eye, It was part of an installation that got weathered, but got better!" The answer satisfied me for the moment. Then when it came to showing the pictures to you, I got stopped wanting to be able to give you all the information and explanations available, technical and otherwise. So at the last minute I wrote again, looking for answers and finally realized that this is NOT really what these pictures are about.

So stepping back, looking at my Intentions, I reminded myself that one of the missions of Treasure Your Life Now is to bring you photos that continue to open up new ways of seeing and noticing things in your environments AND your conversations!

Coming from there, no more information, or knowing, was needed. That, of course, provided the answers for how to tie the photos and/or experience into

Today's Relationship Queries and Tips -

I invite you to look at one or more areas, or situations, in your life, where you're stuck, thinking you are unable to move forward.

Then consider,

1 - "Are you waiting for more information and answers that you are certain you need before you can do anything more?" If so, stop and check with yourself. "What is the intention behind what you want to accomplish?" Do you, in fact, have enough to go ahead and take any kind of action?

Keep reminding yourself of your intentions and if it involves other people share your purposes, up front, with them.

2 - Referring back to the illustration at the start of today's Treasure Your Life Now, is there a place you are not in forward motion because you "know" all the answers; you have all the reasons for not doing something; you know exactly what another person is up to when/he she made a statement or offer that might have an impact for you?

Bottom line to this one is simply to be ongoingly attuned to your "I know" voice AND always checking the reality of it out with the other person.

Please share your insights with us on the blog, or reply to me directly.

Another Point of Interest -
The Healing Power of the Present Moment
is the theme of the August Issue of BUDDHA CHICK LIFE magazine. I am one of the contributing authors and it's an excellent issue.

Although it's geared toward "women on the grow," there is much in it applicable to the men among you. It's also a way of, perhaps, gaining some insight into a woman's perspective.

I will only promote products and services of people with whom I'm familiar and in whose programs I've participated.
