Dear ,

This week's issue of Treasure Your Life Now is one where I am following my intuition. For the most part, in the past years of publishing Picture to Ponder/Treasure Your Life Now, a photograph appears as I search my files, seeming to be the one that wants to be featured.

This past week Ronna Jevne, one of our long-time subscribers, emailed me acknowledging how appreciative she is of each of the issues she receives. It had been a while since I connected with her directly and I was prompted to visit her site. Somewhere on one of her pages I picked up on the quote that intuitively has bcome the subject for today's issue.

"Remember, if you don't go within, you will go without. Become a student of your own life, a therapist of your own soul." Ronna Jevne, Photographer/Writer/Psychologist - www.ronnajevne.ca

Black-Bellied Whistling Duck 2 - June 2010

I offered Ronna's quote as a prompt for one of the four-minute writing segments in a weekly writing group of which I am a participant. Impressed with the practicality of what my friend Marifran Korb wrote, I asked if I could use it here. She agreed:

"Looking inside gives you a happier life outside. Becoming a student of your life means you observe your thoughts and actions. You perceive yourself without judgment.

What keeps us from objective observation of ourselves is the fear of facing our humanity, our flaws, our incompletions.

If that is painful, we won't look. We must start with loving our humanity without being attached to it." Marifran Korb, www.marifrankorb.com

and I wrote, in free-flow writing:

"Something evidently resonated with me when I made note of this quote, writing it down to share. I'm not sure what it was.

The thing is it seems like I'm going within all the time. And as I write this, I'm wondering. I'm into my head a lot and that's not really going, or being, 'within.'

What if I considered spending more time traveling with my mind to my more inner core? At least during those times when I am feeling that I am 'without.'

At times, it might be even more simple, and less of what perhaps I'm feeling as painful, to start paying attention to what presumably is my intuition at times when I have inspired thoughts.

I was listening to Dewitt Jones last night in his video FOCUS. He shared examples of sometimes waiting a day for an answer to the imagery to be used on a particular photographic assignment. Sitting being with what's there, is certainly another way of finding the answers.

It could be therapeutic. His main point was not to think you have to have the answer, even when you think you know what you want. Sometimes it's important to simply wait to see what shows up. Your intuition will let you KNOW, that's IT!"

Today's Photos -
The upper photo is of a Whistling Duck. I remembered it immediately when I was considering a photo for representing "looking within."

The lower, quirky, photo is of an onion slice and segment. The spontaneous arrangement on the counter caught my eye as I was slicing more of it, so I photographed it. [I did isolate it with Photoshop Elements and put it on a plain background.]

Self-Reflecting Queries and Relationship Tips -
I could make up a story as to how the onion fits and suffice it to say for today, I'm simply following my intuition that it belongs in the mix here in this issue.

In terms of Self-Reflecting Queries today, I invite you to see if there is anything you think you might be "without" in your life right now. Then go "within" to understand it more. Do remind yourself of Marifran's counsel that the result of doing "within" work can be the possibility and knowing of the happy life on the outside.

Insofar as Relationship Tips for this week -
Oftentimes we tend to mentally go within what we think is happening with another person. There may be times that you are then moved to tell the other how to fix it, or what he or she should or shouldn't be doing.

If you ever find yourself doing this:
1 - First ask the person if what you think is so is, in fact, the situation.

2 - If so, and you think that your ideas might make a positive difference for that person, state that you have some thoughts. Is he or she interested/open to hearing them? ALWAYS have another person's permission before sharing your ideas.

As always, have fun, and please post what comes up for you in the COMMENTS section of the blog.
