Dear ,
Do you always feel that it's necessary to keep moving forward? that it's important not to look back? Well today's photos and queries are a demonstration of celebration and appreciation of experiences from the past.
Given Mother's Day was not that long ago, I'd been thinking about featuring "roses" in this issue of Treasure Your Life Now. They are sometimes known as "symbols of love." See "Roses and Hugs say 'I love you.'"
I'd planned to use a couple of roses from the Mother's Day bouquet I received from one of my sons and his family this year. First, wanting to see what I had shared in the past, I searched for "roses" on my Photography and Transformation Blog.
When I saw the first photo shown here my heart went "zing". I am, thus, honoring my heart by going back and revising the February 15, 2011, Volume 7 - Issue 7 post in which the roses were presented. The photos are a celebration of beauty... not "past", nor "present"... rather "everlasting."
In that Picture to Ponder issue and post two years ago, I referred to a course I was teaching with the week's lesson focused on noticing light, shadows and contrasts. I continued with the suggested "explorations" that I had given participants.
I stated, "I ultimately had fun 'playing' with two white roses out of a Valentine's Day bouquet of roses gift."

In 2011, I wrote:
"I'm finding it interesting to note my freely playing with editing programs and publicly sharing this. During the first few years of Picture to Ponder I was very rigorous about showing photos, aside from cropping, 'exactly' as they were when I downloaded them from my cameras. I even wrote about my "position" quite often, probably with righteousness and a smug pride at times.
This leads me to now invite you to look at your life.
Can you find any areas where you are feeling, or felt, very righteous, rigid and even self-important about doing something exactly the way it is/was 'supposed' to be done?
You may even have created the 'rules', as I did, which is even more interesting. If the latter is the case, how often did/do you impose your expectations on others?
Lastly, can you see any areas where you have grown, moved past those often self-limiting beliefs?
If so, I invite you to acknowledge yourself for this, even publicly, here or to another person, further empowering yourself and others."
Relationship Tip -
I now invite you to look at each of the Queries above to see how
your possible righteousness and rigidity on the way things "should be done" might be impacting one or more of your relationships.
Lastly, given this started out with a rose photo from the past that moved me to honor and appreciate its beauty in the present, what is one thing of beauty in a relationship that you might have forgotten from your past.
I invite you to
celebrate that with yourself and another for how it contributed to you in the past, now present, or what it can now become.
