Helping people to be able to easily thrive and connect in today's world, with the people close to them, is one of my passions and a major part of what drives me. Following is a family story that illustrates a tiny part of the why and how.
The section that follows the story lists "Hey,
Siri" tools that I use for ease and efficiency. Finally, be sure to check out the gift certificate offer at the end of this email.
The Story - Are you one who love sports, particularly at this time of year, baseball (season recently over) and/or football? My late husband was a fan, along with our sons. This has moved down
into the next generation, although, in part, to different teams.
My husband, who worked in New York City, and I were/are native Philadelphians. After 5 years in NYC, we moved to Central New Jersey, between New York and Philadelphia, where we lived for 37 years. My older son and his sons are Phillies (baseball) and Eagles (football) fans
(Philadelphia teams).
My younger son and his son are avid Mets (baseball) and Giants (football) fans (New York teams). Grandson Ryan does a daily "Locked on Mets" podcast on YouTube.
My
point in sharing the above story is that I am not, nor ever have I been, a sports fan. Yet I do want to keep up with my family's interests.
Thus I became very excited recently, when I started asking Siri on my iPhone ("Hey, Siri, what's the Mets' (or Phillies') score?") during the game
or after. (If you have an Android phone, you can likely get the same or similar information.)
"The scoreboard images, as seen above, popped up on my screen.
Siri then did a voice commentary on the status of the each team in the series, the game score and more. Thus I was able to knowledgeably connect with and talk about these baseball games with my sons and grandsons without having had to watch the games.
As you'll see, the images on football team score results, shown above, were presented a little differently from the way the baseball ones were delivered. Again, there was a full Siri voice
commentary.
The type of information answers you'll get from Siri is dependent on the question you ask. In the above situations I asked for the score.
In the image below, I had asked "Hey, Siri, what's happening with the Eagles? As you can see, this question brought up links to different articles.

More on "Hey, Siri"(on iPhone) or "Ask Google"(on Android phones)
Most, if not all, of this is possible on Android phones with "Ask Google."
Over the past several years, I have been surprised at the number of people with whom I've spoken who have executive positions...some in major corporations...who are not aware of how "Hey, Siri" and other Apps can add to their time effiency.
Amongst the ways that "Siri" has added ease and
efficiency to my life, include:
setting Reminders (one of my most important and favorite Apps, particularly when it comes to specific times for medications);
writing Notes,
adding an appointment to my calendar,
making a phone call or
sending a quick text message with the
phone in my lap, or on the seat next to me - "Hey, Siri. Text Rob." "'Her" response, "What do you want me to say?" Me, "I'm just leaving my community." She repeats it back to me, asks if that's what I want to say, then sends it when I give the OK.
I also appreciate asking “her” a quick information-needed question, sometimes when I’m in the middle of a project. "She's" much quicker than I am when jumping into my browser.
"She" then searches the Internet for me, reads me the response and sends
links. With phone in my pocket, I've used this when working in the kitchen and needed to convert grams into ounces. I simply asked "her."

Now, with the upcoming Holidays, I invite you to consider the following. Is there someone important to you, including yourself, who might be tech-challenged or simply might want to learn more?
If so, I’m offering the opportunity for you to be able to give a Gift Certificate for Tech Coaching.
Amongst areas that can be covered, in addition to efficiency
with the phone, are:
