Hi
If you're a non-fiction author who wants to pitch your book to a literary agent, this may be the chance.
Each year, the Nonfiction Writers Conference, hosted by Stephanie Chandler, features a live pitch session with literary agents who are attending the conference that takes place only on Zoom. The agents are actively seeking nonfiction books and are eager to hear from participants.
Gold, Platinum, VIP, and Thought Leader attendees have the opportunity to submit a simple pitch application. Twenty applicants are chosen at random to participate live on Zoom during a special double conference session on Thursday, May 9, at 4 p.m. Eastern Time (9 a.m. Pacific).
Each participant gets five minutes to share a pitch and hear feedback from the agents. After the session
is complete, agents send the Nonfiction Writers Conference a list of proposal requests, and the conference forwards those to the participants. On average, agents have requested proposals from around 30 percent of past participants.
Why a literary agent?
Because many major or medium-size publishing houses work only through agents, not authors.

By the way, the conference received fewer than 100 applications last year so your odds of being selected are quite good.
This is in addition to the many other benefits of attending NFWC May
8-10. They include:
>>> Inspiration from opening speaker Jane Friedman who has spent nearly 25 years working in the book publishing industry, with a focus on author education and trend reporting. She is the editor of The Hot Sheet, the essential publishing industry newsletter for authors. Her latest book is The Business of Being a Writer (University of Chicago Press).
>>> Three days of LIVE learning sessions,
including Q&A with speakers. Topics cover writing, publishing, marketing, professional speaking, DEI, revenue streams, and publicity.
>>> The chance to meet one-on-one with industry pros. (Gold, Platinum, VIP, and Thought Leaders eligible.)
>>> Connect with fellow writers during the virtual networking session where small groups of attendees join in Zoom breakout rooms for brainstorming.
Since 2010, Stephanie has delivered this event entirely online. She offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee so if for any reason NFWC isn't for you, she will issue a full refund. Registration starts at $197. NFAA members receive special event pricing. Not a member yet? You can join with registration and get member pricing.
Register here and save 20% but only if you do so by Friday.
