Hi Everyone,
The Put Old on Hold Journal site is being renovated so there won't be a newsletter this month. There are many new things I need to learn and I'm looking forward to the challenge.
The appearance of the "new" site will be familiar but behind the scenes, there is a lot I have to learn, In the meantime, below are the articles that ordinarily would have been included in the newsletter. To read the article, click on the accompanying link. If you have questions, comments or suggestions, please write to me at [email protected]. I am always happy to hear from you.

============
This past month I found very few external articles of interest to older people, but I did find an interesting piece regarding Alzheimer's. Here is the link:
Elderly discovered with superior memory and Alzheimer’s pathology

I think most older people who deal with memory lapses or slow recall worry about getting or having Alzheimer's. The "taus and tangles" in the brain that are the accepted "proof" that Alzheimer's is present, now appear to be meaningless. My guess is that Alzheimer's may be a product of how we have lived over time -- poor diet and lifestyle choices, The damage shows up in not only a debilitated
body but also as a debilitated brain. (Yes, yes, I know that explanation is too simple.)
Since few medical schools teach about nutrition, it's unlikely that a "nutrition and lifestyle"
deficit would ever be accepted by the medical profession as the cause for Alzheimer's.
