The Riding Diary Newsletter - Issue 5 - 23rd June 2016
Hi
Welcome to the latest Riding Diary Newsletter.

A different format to the newsletter this time;  not just event news.  Do let me know what you think.

You can find  details of  thousands of events on the Riding Diary.

Do you have a special event that you are attending this year?  It would be great to hear about it.  Or have you been to an event recently that stood out for you, do let me know - photos would be good too!

And if you belong to a  riding club or organisation and their events are not on the Riding Diary, please can you get in touch.

Kind regards
Jane

HATCAMS - WHAT YOU SHOULD CONSIDER

An article by Emma Mclean

Emma writes, "Whilst I would not dispute that it is now a real need to have some form of video capture equipment when riding out on the road these days, I would like people to strongly consider where they mount such a camera, without just following fashion.

I have been in contact with two major riding hat manufactures to seek their advice on mounting cameras on riding hats, and have combined this with my own 20+ years of trauma nursing experience to provide some points for consideration.

Martin Clunes is supporting the new BHS social media campaign for riding hat safety. Here is his photo for the #hathairdontcare campaign

The BHS needs you to get on-board and campaign for riding hat safety. You can load your selfie onto Facebook and/or Twitter using the hashtag #hathairdontcare and tag  The British Horse Society. Nominate three friends to do the same and let's be proud of our 'hat hair'!

1.Take a hat hair selfie after you’ve been out riding
2.Upload it to social media
3.Use the hashtag #hathairdontcare
4.
Nominate three friends to post one too.

See the selfies and campaign supporters here >>>

And now for some ....SHOPPING!
Whilst doing some essential shopping for a new fly rug, I noticed that Derby House had 50% off their own brand of fly rugs.  This includes a hybrid rug which combines features of a turnout and a fly rug - sounds perfect for the current spell of summer weather!
