Writing about graphene makes me think of an old friend who years ago was excited about the prospect of graphene based super-capacitors.

While these materials are being used to make super-capacitors like he envisioned the development of graphene based hydrogels is a much more disturbing story.

Water was considered a "gel" by Gerald Pollack and he published his work in his 2013 book "The Fourth Phase of Water" but what does this have to do with graphene?
